1) Advent is a five-member Spirit Filled hardcore band from North Carolina; most notably, three of its members - Johnny Smrdel, Matt Harrison, and Joe Musten - used to play in Beloved, a melodic rock/post-hardcore band that broke up in 2005 (Josh Moore went to play with Classic Case and Dusty Redmon joined Dead Poetic, but is now with The Almost).

Originally solely comprised of the three ex-Beloved members, Advent recently acquired the former drummer from Element of One, Chris Anklein (so that Joe Musten can focus entirely on vocals) and a second guitarist, Mike Rich (formerly touring and playing in such bands as War of Ages, The Red Baron, and Bearathon).

Advent has released their first album, "Remove The Earth".

Formed in 1989, Advent began as a collaboration between Alan Benjamin and Henry Ptak, with Henry's brother Mark joining very shortly thereafter.

Leveraging diverse-yet-harmonious backgrounds and a common desire to create music that would, first and foremost, satisfy the members' own progressive and somewhat eclectic musical desires, the band went on to release its critically acclaimed (self-titled) debut CD on Mellow Records and also contributed several pieces to both Gentle Giant and Procol Harum tribute-album projects.

Joined in 2005 by new drummer Drew Siciliano, the group has recently finished recording its long-awaited follow-up album, Cantus Firmus — and the CD is now officially available.
