There are four (4) artists that go by the name of Chrome.
1) Formed by guitarist Helios Creed and drummer/keyboardist/vocalist Damon Edge in San Francisco in 1976, Chrome was one of the first industrial bands. Adding Gary Spain on bass, they created a unique hybrid sound based on the standard rock power trio but combined with tape loops, samples, noisescapes, and synth. Gary Lambdin and Mike Low joined the band for the first two albums, but later left, leaving the band a trio. As time wore on, Gary Spain slowly played less of an active role in the band, leaving Helios and Edge to explore their experimental industrial ideas. Chrome broke up in 1982 after nine full-length albums. Both Creed and Edge continued releasing material under the Chrome name as well their own. Edge died in 1995; Creed is still active today.
2) Chrome is a rapper from North Memphis, Tennessee's Frayser area, the same neighborhood of fellow H.C.P member, Frayser Boy. Chrome is signed to the Hypnotize Minds record label, which is owned by Three 6 Mafia.
Chrome released his first album in the winter of 2005, called Straight To The Pros. The singles off of that album were "So Fresh" and "I Learned".
3) Chrome is a thrash metal band from Kangasniemi, Eastern Finland.
4) Chrome is also a Swedish viking rock band. |
