Doc Corbin Dart was lead singer, founder and lyricist of Lansing, Michigan, USA's seminal 80's punk rock act Crucifucks.
The band formed in 1982, and signed to Alternative Tentacles releasing the self titled 'Crucifucks', a year later followed up with 'Wisconsin'.
Doc Dart went on to record two solo projects, Patricia (1990, Alternative Tentacles, LP/CS only), and the CS-only self-released, Black Tuesday, in '91.
In 1998, The Crucifucks reformed and did a brief national tour, including a performance at Alternative tentacles 20th Aniiversary Party. They also released their first CD in nearly a decade, called 'L.D. Eye'.
Doc continues as a mainstay of alternative culture in Lansing, Michigan, regularly showing up in local papers, and runs a baseball trading card storefront in a small, bleak collection of shops on Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital.
In recent years, Doc Corbin Dart, changed his name to 26 and released a new solo CD on Madison, Wisconsin's Crustacean Records. The CD from 26 'The Messiah', while still full of the same angst that made The Crucifucks a legend, it is also more mature. |
